Please, have mercy on me and do not tell me how horrible these things are for my diet. I LOVE them. My grandma loved them. I’ve told you before that money was always very tight for them but she would buy herself a little box of chocolate covered cherries every year when the Christmas candies were in the grocery store. As much as she loved them, she would always share with me. I probably would not! I would hide them and wait til Addie went to bed and then I’d eat the entire box!
I haven’t seen the price on them this year but I limit myself to one box because I have no self control with them around. I always buy one box – the smallest box I see. Vince will say “They’re only around once a year (though I think they are available always but just not front and center like they are at Christmas) . . buy two boxes. You love them!” I do love them but nope, one box is more than enough.
Last night I was watching you tube and came across this video by The Salted Pepper. I love most of her videos and recipes. I’ve ordered the cherry bakery emulsion and the invertase, which I have never heard of, and I’m absolutely going to make these. I will use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate. Either the cherry bakery emulsion or the invertase will not arrive til somewhere around November 20 so I won’t be making them this week.
Who knew you could make your own chocolate covered cherries? I really should stay off Youtube but that’s what I was doing while the dogs were sleeping next to me.

I made all kinds of candy years ago such as chocolate covered cherries, peanut butter cups, almond joys, mallo cups when I took candy and cake decorating. The guys I worked with loved it but my belly size sure didn’t…lol. I have learned over the years to limit myself on candy intake. I put in refrigerator so out of sight out of mind. My husband l8ke dark chocolate and we bought a box last Christmas and it’s still in kitchen unopened.

I’m not much of a candy eater. I do like those chocolate covered cherries once a year though. My weakness is potato chips and I probably haven’t had any in three or four years, simply because I know the nutritional “value”.

I LOVE those chocolate covered cherries, too, Judy! I’ve also been loving chocolate covered marshmallows from Trader Joe’s these days. Yum!

Haven’t had those but we don’t have a Trader Joe’s nearby.

I’ve been a lifelong chocolate covered cherry lover! Some years ago I discovered the Cella brand and those are my favorite. I always buy a small box near Christmas and share them with my son who also loves them. My husband isn’t a fan but that’s okay….means more for me!

I am like you in regards to chocolate covered cherries. That’s my husband’s go-to Christmas gift for me every year. 🙂 I already found a box at the dollar store of my favorite brand, but haven’t opened it yet. (I know when I do, it will be empty within a day…) I have a recipe for chocolate covered cherries that I found in Women’s Day magazine years and years ago. I’ve made them in years past, although not lately. I get the cherries with the stems still attached, wrap the fondant around them, then dip them in the milk chocolate. Delish!!! 🙂 Enjoy yours!!

I’m a dark chocolate girl and a couple of years ago I saw (and bought) a box of the dark chocolate covered cherries. They were so good! I’ve managed to avoid buying them for a few years, so hopefully I’m not too tempted. Don’t misunderstand–I have lots of other chocolate in the house. I’m not torturing myself by not having chocolate in my life. After all I’m most definitely a chocoholic, and I have to desire to be “cured”! LOL

LOVE chocolate covered cherries – every year for Christmas, my Grandmother bought my brother and me our own boxes of chocolate covered cherries. So yummy!

My mom use to make them at Christmas time, the hard part was you had to wait two weeks before they were ready to eat. Those were a long two weeks.

Really! You can bet all of mine won’t make the two week wait.
