Every time I type “flying lessons” I laugh thinking someone might think I’m actually taking flying lessons. No! Never! Not even when I was young and crazy.
There’s the cover so you can see how much I’ve stitched.
Considering that it’s only been 8 or 9, maybe 10 days since I started this, and for two of those days, I did no stitching, I’m pretty happy with my progress.
Today I hope to stitch “Aviation Institute” today. My plan was to put this away today but I’m thinking if I can work on this two more days after today, I think I can get it finished. Stitching frames are in short supply and putting this away on a frame, knowing I probably wouldn’t pick it up again til next summer at the earliest, I just need to finish it now, get it off the frame and then towards the end of next summer, I can get the finishing piece ready and get it fully finished before Fall, 2024.
So, now my plan is:
- October 31 – Stitch “Aviation Institute”
- November 1 – Finish the broom and stitch Est. 1622
- November 2 – Finish the moon/second bat. Stitch the stars at the bottom.
That should finish it up!

That is looking so good – especially on that fabric.

I really like that one, especially the color changes you made. Can’t wait to see how you fully finish it!

I love your color changes and can’t wait to see when it’s completed!

I’m trying to finish this one – thought I could get it done yesterday – but not quite – the moon took a lot longer than I expected – there’s a lot of stitches in there! It should be done today.

That’s exactly where I am. The bottom of the broom looks like it has a lot of stitches too and I’ll have to follow the chart closely – not mindless one color stitching like I thought but it will be nice for us to have them finished. There’s always next year! 🙂 Good luck to both of us.
