If I would work a little to keep myself organized, I wouldn’t have to stop and spend days doing it but . . that seems to be how I operate.
When I start something new, I never expect things to get so out of control, though I should expect that by now. I wish that when I started buying linen and charts . . not so much floss, but I wish I had started a spreadsheet then instead of having to go back and do it.
I order things until I reach my saturation point. I did it with quilting fabric, with yarn and I’m there with cross stitching supplies. I’m not going to say I’ll never buy another chart because something will come out that catches my attention. I will say that I will not buy any more linen! I’m done!
I started a spreadsheet for my linen yesterday and worked most of yesterday and today getting everything entered. I only worked on the 40 count. I have been keeping it in separate bins but I’m sure there’s a piece or two of 40 count linen somewhere in this house that I’ll come across that isn’t on the list but I’d say 99.9% of it is in the new bins and on the spreadsheet. Anything that was in kits or a WIP did not get included.
I use 40 count for probably 20 projects to every 1 project of 36 count and then I rarely use anything else.
The thing I thought was interesting was that I have the most XJu Designs 40 count linen. Next was Picture This Plus but there was twice as much XJu as Picture This Plus and the other top linens in my 40 count stash Are Tropical Stitch, Needle & Flax and Fox & Rabbit but the four, including Picture This Plus, were all within 4 or 5 pieces of each other.
I do love all my linen. I would like to think I’ll use most of it. There’s no way I will so there’s no reason to buy any more. I do have a variety of very useful colors – mostly all sampler type colors so . . I’m good!

It really is a disease…not sure what it’s called…maybe the “Iwantitall” disease? I call it a 401L!

I like both names! But, I hope I’m cured. 🙂

You’ve got some great colors there! It really is…a disease…an obsession…an addiction??? Have you heard the acronym, SABLE? Stash Accumulation Beyond Life Expectancy!!

Yes, I heard about SABLE when buying quilting fabric, then knitting yarn, now stitching linen. 🙂

I finally organized my linen a couple weeks ago – all in a bin folded nicely but mostly 32 count is my favorite – I said I wasn’t buying anymore and then right quickly bought 3 more quarters from a sale! Good luck with your resolution!
