Last night I was able to work on The Lord’s Prayer for several hours. I’m using Vikki Clayton’s Silks and I LOVE working with them. They aren’t that much more expensive than overdyed cotton floss. The Gentle Arts overdyed cotton is $2.39 for six strands of 5 yards so, in effect, there’s 30 yards of floss. Vikki Clayton’s silks are $3 for the same amount – six strands of 5 yards. That’s about 60 cents more per color and for silk, to me it’s worth it so long as I don’t buy too many colors.
Last night when I took this picture, I thought . . that looks like two spooky eyes but it’s really part of the top of a butterfly.
It was especially funny because . . you all know I’m the biggest chicken ever, right? I have two fabric scarecrows on a stick that I bought at Hobby Lobby last year. They’re for outside but I knew with rain and weather, they wouldn’t last long outside. They have what looks like regular fiberfill in them. I never put them out last year but this year I have them standing up in the greenhouse so it looks like two scarecrows looking out. I just put them in there yesterday.
There are motion lights on the pergola that shine right past the greenhouse. It was late and Vince was already in bed so I was being a chicken but I took Oscar out. Just as I got past the greenhouse, I caught a glimpse of someone inside the greenhouse. I think my heart skipped a beat or two because I was just inches from that person . . him on the inside of the greenhouse; me on the outside of the greenhouse. In a split second, I thought . . how am I going to get back inside the house without walking past him and I was inside the fence so I couldn’t quickly escape. Then I realized it was the scarecrows inside the greenhouse but I couldn’t make myself look back to be sure. Then Oscar saw that crazy rabbit in the back yard and my thoughts went to trying to get him back inside the house before he started barking and waking up neighbors so I got past the scarecrows without having to look at them. I guess they did their job — scared the heck out of me.

Love it! I’m terrified of things like that too. Cheryl
