Yesterday ended another five day stitching cycle. Is cycle the right word? I start working on a project on the 1st of the month, work on it 5 days, start another one on the 6th, work on it 5 days, . . you get the picture.
I keep thinking any day now I’ll have more stitching time. This week I haven’t been canning so much but we were gone a good chunk of yesterday. We were going to go to an Amish auction today but decided not to go. We have a delivery scheduled for today and we don’t want it to be left out on the porch and after leaving Oscar in the crate for half the day yesterday, I’m not sure he’s ready to do that again. So, we’re staying home. And, Addie is cheering in Joplin Saturday so we’ll go to the game, then we’ll all go out to eat together so that’s another day Oscar will be in the crate so . . today is a good day to stay home.
I have an easy meal planned for today. The freeze dryer is running and shouldn’t need my attention til sometime tomorrow afternoon. I’m hoping to get lots of stitching done today.
On the 11th, I picked up Coming to America again. This is how it looked when I picked it up.
Here’s how it looked last night when I put it away again.
I know! It doesn’t look like much of an accomplishment for five days of stitching but I haven’t had much stitching time. Hopefully I will get more done in the next five days. Hurry up winter and snow so I can sit inside and stitch!
The project I will start today (new start) is Never Let You Go by Heartstring Samplery. The stitch count is 201 x 228. On 40 count, the finished size of the stitched area should be 10″ x 11-3/8″.
The linen I’m using is 40 count linen. The color is Regency by Seraphim Fabrics. I tried to get a good picture of the linen but couldn’t. It’s still dark outside and the basement lighting isn’t amazing. I bought this at Colorado Cross Stitcher and even though it’s out of stock now, you can see their good photo of it here.
I think the floss colors will be so pretty on this linen. I had all the floss except one – Skinny Dip (Weeks Dye Works) and it hasn’t arrived yet.
It’s hard to read the verse but it says “I wish I was a little seed I’d grow and grow. I’d twine myself around your Heart and lever let you go.”
The text is all over one and since I’m using cotton floss on 40 count, I don’t think I’m going to do that. I may make the piece longer, or I may leave out the text or I may put something else in there. I like the sentiment of the text but I’m not so sure I like the way it’s written.
I may end up stitching the alphabet at the top, then dropping, stitching the house, flowers, people and animals and leave out that whole center section. Yes, I think that may be my plan!
