NOTE: Thank you, Dot, for sending me the website where these magazines can be purchased. It’s here. The cost is extremely reasonable and it’s so nice to have them all as a PDF so I can sit and go through the files when I’m too tired to stitch. Ever time I go through them, something catches my eye that didn’t jump out at me before.
This took four days and considering how little time I’ve had to stitch, surely it could have been stitched in 2 or 3 days if I had a normal amount of stitching time.
This is Fanciful Alphabet by Monique Keylon of My Mark Designs. This is an old chart from The Gift of Cross Stitching magazine. There is a website listed on the chart but the website seems to no longer exist.
I think it needs something in the bottom right corner. In the left bottom corner, I will probably stitch my initials and 2023. I’ll come up with something to stitch. I think it’s the perfect spot for a little brown and white dachshund but that doesn’t really go there.
I am really a bad cross stitcher! The linen I’m using to stitch Rejoice Evermore by Brenda Gervais has a good bit of space at the bottom so I rolled that piece up on the frame and stitched the alphabet at the bottom right (which is really the top left because I stitched it upside down on the linen). How’s that for confusing?
There’s still room to stitch something small in that other corner of the linen and there’s a good bit of space between Rejoice Evermore and the alphabet piece so I’ll fill up as much of this piece of linen as I can before I take it out of the frame.
I hope I get all these projects finished before my time on Earth is up. It actually would be funny to watch someone else try to figure out what I was doing with all these different stitched pieces on one piece of linen.

I love it!

So pretty. Is there really any rhyme or reason on all those samplers we love as to what motifs were used? I don’t think so, so if you want to stitch Oscar there, why not! 🙂 If you were looking for the website where people can order the digital subscription it is at https://www.tgosm.com/

Thanks! That’s it. On the chart from Issue 4 that I was using, it listed a different website and it’s no longer active. Appreciate your sending me that.

That is one of the first alphabet pieces that I can say, “I love it!” You did a beautiful job!! I may try to get with some of my Xst friends to see if I can find this chart. Thank you, Judy!

This one is really sweet, love the floss color you used!

Could the magazine have been “The Gift of Stitching Magazine”? If it was, they are selling digital copies of their back issues at this website:

Yes, that’s it. Thank you. The website listed on the chart must be an old one and no longer works. I’ll go fix it on the post.

I had first googled the designer’s unusual name, and found her old blog, where she said her pattern company was mymarkdesigns.com. And she’s currently on LinkedIn. But finding the magazine is even better. There are 72 issues available, so I hope they show a table of contents for each issue!

I store mine in Dropbox and I have all the magazines listed as separate files within the whole file. I don’t see a total table of contents but maybe I didn’t set mine up to include it if it’s there. I’ve had it for several years so I don’t even remember getting it.

That is so pretty! A little dragonfly would look so good in that right corner. That floss would be perfect for it, too!

Great idea and that would remind me of the dragonflies that play with Oscar. Thanks!

Thanks to both you, Judy, and Dot! I did not realize this piece was from a digital magazine. Heck, I’m still getting my quilt magazines in hard copy by USPS! I will be ordering…. I can’t believe you’re leading me back into Xst!

Yay, Donna! I much prefer the digital copies of the cross stitching magazines. I hope you love it.
