I have been keeping Oscar’s ball out of his sight because all I do is retrieve it from under the ottoman. This morning, he was so energetic and into everything, I got the ball down for him to play with . . just to try to keep him occupied for a few minutes. I couldn’t even make one full “x” on my cross stitching before I had to put it down, lift the ottoman so he could get his ball. He immediately goes into a barking fit when the ball rolls under the ottoman. Vince was upstairs working on something and I guess he got tired of hearing Oscar so he went out and made a little “fence” to keep the ball from rolling under the ottoman.
Thank you, Vince!!
Yes, I know the slipcover on the love seat looks awful. It’s an extra slipcover for the sofa while the love seat slip cover is in the washer. I just threw it on and didn’t try to get it get it all tucked in and spread out nicely. The better fitting slip cover is in the dryer and I’ll get it all nice and neatly on the love seat where it will stay nice and neat for a day or so.

Fence looks great, made like an engineer would. I was picturing something about 4 inches tall and wide(er) to do the job. My husband was an engineer, lifelong problem solver, and I bet he would have built the fence the same way, minimal work to get the job done. Good luck with it. Thank goodness for brain power. Keep stitching. And keep throwing Oscar a bone, er ball on occasion to keep him athletic.

The ball barely (BARELY) fit to roll under there so anything more than about 1/4″ tall would have stopped the ball. Amazingly, Oscar has not even noticed the fence. I figured he’d immediately start chewing and trying to get rid of it. He doesn’t like anything new.
It’s starting to cool down enough that we can again go out in the evenings and play ball. The last few days, the mosquitoes have been so bad, I didn’t want to take him out any longer than he needed to do his business. Always something!
