Back in June, 2021 I came across the Coming to America chart by Brenda Gervais. I was a new cross stitcher and didn’t know much about what I was doing. I saw this piece stitched in a Facebook group. I had no idea how to find it but I wanted it. A bit later I saw that someone else had stitched it so I wrote her to get more info. I was able to order it from Cecilia’s in Branson. I wrote about it here.
I’ve been wanting to stitch it but lately, it’s been really trying to jump onto my stitching frame. The other night I was chatting with Denise and she said there were two charts she wanted to start and wasn’t sure which one to start. One was Coming to America and I told her I’d start that one with her. Here’s Denise’s post with a picture.
Here’s where I am. The white seagull in the top isn’t showing up so I’m going to take that out and restitch it with a different floss.
It’s nice to be finally working on this project. This chart hasn’t been available . . not sure how I got it but it is in the batch of Brenda Gervais charts that were released this weekend. It’s available here if anyone is interested.

I found this post very interesting. In 2024, people of my background are celebrating 150 years coming to America. Most of our people came as entire communities and established churches here with the same names of their villages. As though I don’t have enough to get done, this gives me ideas!! I’m not going to say, “thank you, Judy”, yet! Time will tell.

Not sure what your idea is but I can’t wait to hear about it.
