I love basil. When I’m outside working, I’ll often grab a leaf or two and chew on it for a while outside. Yesterday I had picked a bunch of basil and had kombucha ready to bottle and wasn’t sure what flavors to use.

Vince doesn’t really like the kombucha and while he likes basil, he doesn’t love it like I do so I figured he wouldn’t mind if I made a few bottles of blueberry basil kombucha. I heated the blueberries with a bit of vanilla sugar, mashing the berries a bit, divided that up among the bottles and added a few small basil leaves. It will be a week or so before it’s ready to try but I’m excited to try it.

Five bottles and a new batch started. I hope it’s as good as I think it will be.
