Some days, about May through September it seems, I hardly have time for stitching. There is time but it’s small segments of time and not much sitting and stitching for hours. It’s hard for me to start stitching when I know I have 20 minutes to stitch and then I have to get up and take care of something, then I’ll have another 10 minutes to sit and stitch. This is why I love winter!
Today I wanted to stitch but there was little time – lots of things to get done. I decided to kit a couple of projects so that when I do have lots of stitching time, everything will be ready to pick up and start.
I think I mentioned that Vince has made me several frames and they are so perfect.
This is Across the Sea Sampler by Chessie and Me. I’ve seen it stitched and it’s so pretty. It has at least some specialty stitches, which I’ve never done, but I’m ready to try it. I couldn’t believe I had all the floss for this one.
I think I’m going to stitch it on 36 Count Legacy by Picture this Plus (shown above).
The other possibility is 36 Count Dead Sea Scroll by Seraphim, shown above. The Dead Sea Scroll is a bit darker than it appears so I think I’m going to end up using Legacy.
When I have numerous projects on frames, until there’s enough stitching done that I can recognize the project, I’ve started labeling them. The labels peel off easily when I no longer need them but having those labels saves a lot of time!

Chessie and Me almost always has some speciality stitches in her original designs but not enough to be overwhelming or discouraging. Just follow the stitch diagrams and you’ll be fine. I really love her Patriotic designs and I can’t wait to see your start and progress on this one.

I have several of her charts but have never stitched one. I know The Drawn Thread charts almost always have specialty stitches but I’ve never stitched one of those either.

Judy, you sure keep yourself busy and can see why during the summer there isn’t much time
for cross stitching. That is a good idea to kit them. I have done that also to some. Love getting
back into cross stitching again. I have a quilt/cross stitch shop a half hour away from us. Is
fun to go there and visit and see what she has. Was wondering if you could tell me the flosses color/name/number of the 2 that are mauve type color. One on left next to the burgundy one and
the other on right by the green(that one might be a little more brownish tone) I have a burgundy
floss, CCW Manor Red, That I need a mauve/pinkish color to go with it. That on the left might
work pretty good. Thank you Enjoy your emails. I’m from SE South Dakota. We finally got a
little rain here. Still very dry. We had very hot weather . Now we are going to have about 5
days again in high 90’s. Today cooler in the 70’s.

The floss has been re-arranged so I’m afraid I would give you the wrong colors but if you go to the link in the post, the floss colors are listed with links and maybe looking at them, you can figure out which colors you’re asking about. Sorry I can’t be more help.
