A reader asked about the recipe for Zucchini Relish. The recipe is in Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving book (affiliate link). I first bought a version of this book in 2009. I started using it this year and it was pretty much falling apart so I ordered a new one. I do love this book.
NOTE: This is probably not the book I would recommend for beginning canners. There are other books that have more basic “how to” instructions. This book is full of amazing recipes that aren’t covered in basic instruction books.
The Zucchini Relish is so easy to make and it’s good on sandwiches, in potato salad, tuna salad, in a bowl of cherry tomatoes . . we use a lot and the 9 half pints I made will probably be gone by Christmas. I had planned to go to the Farmers’ Market today and see if I could find more zucchini but with the lightning and rain, I didn’t go.

A good book, I have it, too. There’s another one of pickles, but I’m feeling too lazy to go get it off the bookshelf. I’ll try to remember in a day or two and send you the information on that one … but you probably already have it, also.

I don’t know if I have it . . I’ve never been good at making pickles. If you do find it, I’d love to know the name of it. I’m also bad at growing cucumbers so I don’t even know why I think I might be able to make pickles.

– I tried the Traditional Bread and Butter pickle recipe (pg. 303) in it for the first time last year. I only made two pints, and they turned out delicious.

If ever I’m able to grow cucumbers, I will try them. Thanks!
