Last night I had a bit of stitching time . . just a bit!
Chad called yesterday afternoon about 2 and said they were thinking about driving to Joplin to do some shopping and asked if we wanted to meet them for dinner. We eat early and were just sitting down to eat so I told him we were just fixing to eat dinner. He told me they couldn’t decide whether to go to Pittsburg or Joplin for what they needed so they would just go to Pittsburg.
Later, I was out watering in the garden and I turned around and there they were! We keep the gates locked so I said “How did y’all get in?” Vince had a guy over looking at some work he’s going to do and Vince hadn’t locked the gate back. Chad said “We’ve all tried to call you and Vince. We rang the doorbell so we decided to come find you back here.” They ended up staying a couple of hours. Addie loves playing with Oscar. She so badly wants a dog that will play. Neither of their dogs play. I wish I could give them a bit of Oscar’s playful energy.
I always enjoy visiting with them and . . I hate to say it because I am so thankful to be living 45 minutes from them but . . I wish I lived next door to them and could see them every day.
They left and I still had watering to finish so I watered til it was too dark to see and then I came in and got a bit of stitching done. I used the new red (Soie d’Alger 2646) and it’s turning out just as I had hoped it would.
It’s exactly the red I was wanting. I’m still thinking the brighter red on the door will be ok to leave. Still have time to decide.

It’s the shade I thought would suit, too, so I’m glad you found it and can even re-order if you need it. I know it’s nice to have Chad’s family closer than they were when you were in Texas! Nice to have a surprise visit, too. So much nicer than before, even if it isn’t right next door … which might occasionally not be so great. =)

You’re right. I don’t need to know everything they’re doing every minute but I’d still rather be closer but I’m thrilled to be as close as we are.
