It is time for a decision . . a real decision . . on this project. I have thrown it in the trash at least twice, and then retrieved it. I thought that the last time I threw it out, I let it go but then yesterday I found it on the cutting table in the sewing room.
The project is Grace on Thee by Plum Street Samplers. There’s nothing wrong with it, at least as far as I can tell. I started this in December, 2020. I don’t think it was the first piece I started after having not cross stitched for 30+ years but it might have been the second or third piece I started.
I love it. I want to stitch it but . . not on 32 count with two strands of floss.
If anyone wants this piece, let me know in the comments and I’ll send it to a new home. It’s stitched on 32 count Lambswood Linen (the tag is still on there. On this page, I have listed the changes I’ve made, which include three floss changes. Otherwise, everything I’ve stitched so far is called for floss. The stitch count is 128 x 120 so it isn’t a huge piece.
If more than one person wants it, I’ll put names in a hat and draw one. If no one has claimed it by Sunday . . it’s really going in the trash and staying there. I am not including the chart because I do want to stitch it. I am not including the floss because I have no idea where I put it. This was all before my days of using project bags and it was almost three years ago and not much survives in the wild in this house for three years. Good luck, Oscar! 🙂
Don’t anyone feel like my feelings will be hurt if no one wants this piece. I do not mind tossing it but thought I’d offer it just in case someone thinks they might want it.
The funny thing is that even before we got Oscar, I changed the green in almost everything I stitched, including this piece to Oscar because I’m so in love with that color. It reminds me of the old avocado green kitchen appliances and yes, if I had my way and if those were available, my kitchen would have avocado green appliances.
I named Oscar after my favorite floss, then learned that Oscar is the most used name for male dachshunds because of Oscar Mayer hot dogs! Not many apparently name their dog after their favorite floss color.

I would love to stitch this. I checked to see if the pattern was still available and I do see that it is. I don’t mind stitching with 2 threads at all.

I would love to stitch this in memory of my husband. They played America the Beautiful as the family walked in for his memorial service. He served in the Navy and loved patriotic songs.
