We have maybe two dozen frames we’ve picked up at a local flea market over the past few years. I was so hoping I would find one here that works for A Sampler For All Seasons.
I still haven’t gone through them all but yesterday I thought I had found the perfect frame.
The piece is just laying in the rather dusty frame and the frame really is so close to perfect but note quite perfect. The piece is just about 1/2″ too small for this frame. I looked at trying to add fabric around the edges but it still isn’t going to work. I could have Vince cut the frame down but that seems crazy when it’s only about 1/2″ too big on the length and width and there’s a piece of glass with it.
I’m sure something else will coming along that will fit in this frame. I’ll look at the other frames that are upstairs but I’m not remembering any of those being big enough for this piece. Guess I’ll have to order a frame if nothing here works.

Your finished piece would look beautiful in this frame. It suits the piece perfectly….doesn’t look ‘wrong’ to me, but then I’ve never framed cross stitch pieces, either!

I really liked that frame too but I think I’ll be equally as happy with the one I ordered.

Could you embellish the outside border by a couple of stitches to make it the perfect size?

It’s the fabric that’s too small.

-What about adding fabric and then covering it with a custom cut mat? Could you do a 1 inch mat?

I don’t want to have a mat. I ordered a frame for it and I think I have another project coming up that will fit nicely in the bigger frame.
