I have a hard enough time knowing what day it is when I’m at home. In Louisiana, I have absolutely no idea what day it is. I think living without internet for however many days I’ve been here has caused me to lose whatever bit of brain cells I had. A zillion times a day I think of things to look up and can’t. Thank goodness Vince had mercy on me and today changed my phone plan to unlimited data but there’s no reason to keep that plan since I’m mostly always at home. I think this is the first time I’ve ever been anywhere for an extended time without having internet unless we’re in a cabin in the woods where there just isn’t internet to be found and it’s been 20 years since that happened.
So, thank you, Vince! He also paid for using the phone for a hot spot. Go figure . . we leave here tomorrow but we’re not driving all the way home.
Yesterday we met two of my friends and spent most of the day with them . . please tell me I didn’t already write about this! We went to Steamboat Bill’s for lunch. I got the Atchafalaya Dinner, which was rice, fried catfish, topped with shrimp etouffee. It was beyond delicious. Last night I was telling my uncle how good it was and he said “Want to go back tomorrow?” YES! We went back today. The lady was taking my order and I said “I guess I’ll have what I had yesterday.” She said “NO! You HAVE to try something different.” She wanted to know what I had yesterday so I told her and she said I had to try the House Baked Potato.
That’s a huge baked potato that was so moist and so fluffy, covered with shrimp etouffee and then topped with fried popcorn shrimp. That was equally delicious. I’m not sure which one of those two dinners I would choose if we were going tomorrow.
We’re not going back tomorrow . . but we based our drive tomorrow on stopping for the day near a sushi restaurant.
I’ll be home day after tomorrow and things will hopefully get back to normal around here.

Vince can be such a sweetheart! That dish looks delicious, but I know I wouldn’t like it, not being a fan of anything that swims or lives on or near tide pools and beaches. But it looks good, and that potato with a pile of butter would be my choice, all by itself!
