We haven’t had a bacon, egg and biscuits breakfast in a while. I’ve been sticking with the one meal a day and it’s been working for me. We like to eat breakfast around 10 and then I don’t get hungry again til way late in the day and I don’t like eating late so I haven’t been fixing a big breakfast. We got up this morning, went to the park and walked. It was fairly cool and everyone along the walking path was chatty and nice so it was quite enjoyable . . except for a bridge we had to walk across. Vince said we could park in a different spot and I wouldn’t have to walk across the bridge but . . I’m trying to be brave. It was easier walking across when we got there. On the way back, I was tired and really didn’t want to do it but I did and I don’t think Vince realized how hard it was for me. I feel like such a wimp!
I’m not going to say I’m an expert at biscuits but I think I have it down. I think I’ve gotten pretty good at determining how wet/dry they should be. When using flour I milled, it’s a bit different from following a traditional recipe and using storebought flour. My goal is to totally not use any storebought flour for anything and biscuits were the last hold out. I was still buying flour to make biscuits but now that I’m happy with these and Vince loves them, there’s no need to keep buying flour.
We had homemade peach jam from last year.
I wish I didn’t love making biscuits and bread so much . . if I make it, we’re going to eat it but for me, kneading bread or even folding biscuit dough over and over is so relaxing.
Today or tomorrow, I’m going to make rye bread, which is one thing I have not mastered but . . practice makes perfect, right. I can do this. I want homemade reubens so I have to figure it out.

Come on over. I ate one, Vince ate two so we’ll have leftovers for a couple of days . . unless you come get one or two. 🙂

Good for you, crossing the bridge twice! I don’t like to stand near edges of high (and not so high) places. Makes my knees feel funny.

I live on the West coast of Canada I think I am a bit far away to drop in for a biscuit . I have a cousin in Mountain Grove Mo. and it takes me three at least flights to get there from here, so do not think I will be dropping any time soon. Thanks for the invite though.

Yes, I suppose you can find a good biscuit a bit closer.
