Yesterday Vince and I took a little time off from our . . I was going to say our daily routine but we don’t really have a routine. I had bone broth in the roaster I had planned to can but decided to add more water, let it simmer another day and I’ll get it canned today. Of course, I thought I would get a ton of cross stitching done but I never picked up a needle. I did the bare minimum in the garden and we enjoyed a day together.
We went to one of our favorite nicer restaurants and ate a leisurely lunch. There were a few skeins of floss I needed from Hobby Lobby and there was one thing Vince needed so we stopped by there . . got exactly what we intended to get and nothing more. We stopped by Walmart to fill my car up with gas. I needed a few more half pint jars so we grabbed those at Walmart.
There’s a little park down the road so we drove by there and decided if we could get out early in the mornings before it gets too hot, we’re going to start walking (headed there now!).
Last night we sat down, drank a glass of wine, relaxed and chit chatted more than we’ve done in months, if not years. We hadn’t even planned to have a day just for us . . we had made a morning road trip and were getting back into Joplin just before lunch, discussing where to eat and decided to go some place nicer than where we usually eat and the rest of the day kinda evolved from there.
I think we’re going to try to get in more of those kinds of days. We needed that kind of time together.

YEA! We just had our 43rd anniversary. These days are the BEST and rarely planned. Spontaneous is such a joy. 🙂

We all get so busy and sometimes some of the most important things get neglected. We’re going to try to do better.

Sounds like a wonderful time.

I think we all get too busy with every day to sometimes really enjoy our life partner. My husband works from home but the days we spend in the car while on vacation are usually the best part of the vacation. You really have to take your “couple time” when you can.
