Today I was laughing to myself and thinking I may get myself two journal/notebooks. One will be for “Days That Go According to Plans”. The other will be for “Days That Do Not Go According to the Plans”. I guess the real problem is the crazy lady who keeps making plans when there’s rarely a day that goes according to my plans.
I didn’t feel so good over the weekend, felt even worse when I got up this morning. Thursday night I was out with Oscar, stepped in a low spot and twisted my back. Friday it hurt a little, Saturday it hurt pretty much all day, Sunday it wasn’t too bad but this morning it was hurting again. I had told Vince yesterday that I was going to take it easy today . . sit and stitch, open a jar of something for dinner. Then this morning, since I was feeling worse, I decided I’d better call the doctor. I wasn’t sure if it wasn’t part back ache and part UTI. They could see me mid-morning so I stitched til then, then went to the doctor. No UTI but there is blood in my urine and that usually means a kidney stone but I had lithotripsy in January and, at the follow up doctor visit, I was told my kidneys were clear of stones. That was five months ago so . . if I’m still having pain, I’ll have to have a CT scan next week.
When I got home, Vince said “I’ll take you out to eat since you don’t feel good.” Had I known it was the Chinese buffet, I would have stayed home and cooked but . . I guess if I’m getting taken out, I shouldn’t be making demands. It is the best Chinese buffet in town but . . I just don’t enjoy buffets.
The trip to Carthage also involved a trip to the library, Lowe’s, Walmart, another grocery store and Sonic. Now I’m going to stitch for the rest of the evening . . I hope.

Pat was taking a nap about 3-4 weeks ago and he turned over in bed and he fractured his T9.. It was so painful even Tylenol 4 and diazepam did not help. Last Wednesday he couldn’t stand it any longer and at 5 am I called 911. They took him to the ER and started giving him morphine. We stayed there until 4:30 pm waiting for a ambulance to Abilene Hendricks North. The scheduled him for kyphoplasty and they did it on Friday last week. It was almost instant relief! He came back to BWD to skilled nursing at Oakridge Manor. He will stay there for 2 weeks or more until he gets all the PT the insurance is willing to pay for. He hates it and I hate that for him, but there is no way he can come home right now. He doesn’t even have the strength to get up out of his chair, much less get to the bed without help. They gave him a wonderful brace in Abilene. One I have never seen anything like! He says it makes him feel better. He doesn’t wear it in bed or in his recliner. I pray this is not in store for you, but if it comes to this, I recommend the procedure because it is almost instant relief! Get to feeling better soon!! We are aware that this can happen again!

.late as always, but…it sure sounds like staying home would have been MUCH easier, with all those stops! I hope you got something you really like at Sonic, at least.
