Today is the last day of the May Madness challenge . . I think! The final round was three days, ending at 9 p.m. my time tonight. I was in the middle group and we each had to stitch 1400 stitches over those three days. During these 27 days, I’ve stitched 12,514 stitches. Two days I used free passes because there were other things going on around here. If I take those two days out, I stitched an average of 500 stitches per day. If you leave those two days in, I stitched an average of 463 stitches per day. I would like to think I can stitch 500 stitches per day but I’m not sure. As I mentioned yesterday or day before, almost all the projects I worked on had big houses that needed stitching and that kind of stitching goes much faster than a difficult border, or lots of color changes. I could probably stitch 500 stitches per day during the winter but doubtful in the summer with the garden and Oscar wanting to go out and play.
It truly isn’t about how many stitches I get done but with so much I want to stitch, I do need to stitch faster.
Anyway , here’s where I am on For the Love of Nature.
I am going to work on this today, then tomorrow I’ll go back to A Changed World because I only worked on it three days. I’ll stitch on the 29th and 30th and that will mean I worked on six projects, five days each. I’ll spend the 31st getting projects in order for June and July. Those months with 31 days, I’ll use the 31st to get projects ready for the next month or months.

You do! I’m going to follow your lead and leave off some of the motifs in the bottom. I think it looks a bit cluttered for my liking.

..You may want to pull out “Live on Little” since there are large blocks of solid or near solid colors. I am currently working on the waves in water which require a bit of counting and then I can work on the rest of the water. The sailboat, ground, roofs are also large blocks of a single color.
And, there are some motifs which I think are cluttering up the piece, so I am waiting til the end to see if I stitch them.
One thing to note on the boat – the mast is in the wrong place. A mast supports the main sail and it looks like the mast is linked to the jib sail. So, I’ll be adjusting that section. I may also change the church to be a sail club – stitch my club burgee in place of the cross and make the windows the same. Since the signal flags on top of the sailboat can be your initials, I’ll probably put the year in the sail, like a sail number.
It’s kinda fun to make small changes to a chart to make it my creation.

The competition is over – ended today, so I can get back to regularly scheduled stitching. Sounds like you’re doing some fun things to personalize it and make it more authentic. I can’t wait to see it finished.
