Every day, probably several times a day, we’ll both say “Why did we get the crazy one?” That’s Oscar we’re talking about. Last night I told Vince that every day Oscar is probably thinking . . why did the crazy people adopt me?
I’ve mentioned before that when the Roku screen saver thing comes up, it has ROKU scrolling past in big red letters. That drives Oscar insane. I don’t know how he knows when Vince pauses the TV but he will start watching for it and he goes charging up to the TV and barking this vicious sounding bark. Then, we we both race to grab the remotes and stop it, he keeps sitting there staring at the TV . . just in case it comes back. Last night I was watching a youtube video and there were letters in the background. It said something but the letters were yellow on a blue background and Oscar did the same charging at the TV and barking trick that he does with the Roku letters. What is it with him and letters?
Saturday night, when the little frog showed up in the window, Oscar noticed him and started barking and trying to get to the frog. Sunday night, when it got dark, we closed the curtains. We usually don’t close the curtains . . that’s crazy for someone like me who is so afraid of the dark. Last night we forgot to close the curtains. Vince was reading, I was stitching. Oscar started barking and scared me half to death. I looked at Vince and he said “the frog is back!” so we closed the curtain.
In the evenings, Oscar will sit with Vince. I think he wants to be held and I’m stitching so he can sit beside me but not on my lap. But then when it’s time for the final trip outside, Oscar jumps up on the sofa with me and will not let Vince touch him or put the leash on him. I have to put the leash on him, carry him to the door and then Vince takes him outside, against Oscar’s will. When they get back inside and Vince takes the leash off him, Oscar runs back to side beside me and dares Vince to come in and get close to me. I get up and go to Vince to get my goodnight kiss . . Vince cannot come to me with grumpy little Oscar around. The only time he does that is late at night.
Yep, the crazy couple have a crazy dog!

Mavis loves her dad and hangs with him all the time. BUT, at night if she gets in my chair with me James can not be near me without Mavis snapping at him.

I’m glad to hear Oscar isn’t the only one who does this.
