At least as far as stitching goes, not much has been accomplished today. I’ve made a few stitches but not nearly as many as I had planned.
Vince had errands to run this morning but he had several video conferences (or whatever the current word is for those) during the morning. While he was gone on errands, the furniture people delivered the ottoman. I got the slip cover on it and the slip cover on the love seat. I don’t really like the one for the ottoman. I ordered it from Amazon so it doesn’t match the two that are on the sofa and love seat, both of which are the same and they came from Sure Fit but, Sure Fit doesn’t have one for the size ottoman we got. I ordered a couple more from Amazon and maybe I’ll like those better.
I spent the biggest part of my day searching for my second Lowery frame. It’s not like I’m looking for a needle in a haystack. How could I not be able to find that? Don’t answer that please.
I did fix dinner. I had cooked a roast in the slower cooker yesterday. I always cook my roasts the day before and put them in the fridge overnight so I can skim all the fat off the next day and not aggravate the meat allergy since it seems to be just the fat that causes my reaction. Today I drained the juice into a Dutch oven, added a couple of cans of tomatoes, two bunches of collard greens and simmered all that for a while, then added the roast back, heated it all up, served it over cauliflower rice with a salad and asparagus.
I’m going to start Winter Rose Manor tomorrow. I hope I’ve chosen the right color for the house because whatever I start using . . that’s what I’m using!
It’s rained off and on all day – mostly off I guess because the rain gauge shows .67 inches. It’s funny because Rita will not go out in the rain. Vince will use an umbrella and carry her out, still try to shield her with the umbrella but if it’s raining, it’s a real challenge to get her to go out. He usually comes in and says she didn’t do anything and I take her out. I think she’s figured out I’m the bull headed one in this couple and she’ll usually, but not always, go with me because I stay out with her til she goes. Oscar never seems to notice the rain. Speck would never go out in the rain either so I’m glad Oscar does. He loves being outside.
I’m going to get a few more stitches done before putting Memorial Day away.

I understand about dogs snd rain. I currently have 3 dogs and none of them will go off the covered porch if it’s even drizzly or if the grass is wet!

Here’s a question for you: Did one dog have that opinion and then the others learned that from the first one or did they all independently make that decision? I was worried that if we got another dog while Rita was here and so scared of thunder, the new dog would pick up on it and be afraid of thunder. As it turns out, Oscar is afraid of EVERYTHING except thunder. Before Oscar arrived, Rita either lost her hearing as far as thunder goes or decided it wasn’t worth the effort. She no longer reacts to thunder and we thought she had lost her hearing but she still hears lots of other things so . . who knows.
