I liked this piece when I first started it, then I thought it was kinda boring and lost interest. At some point, I thought about giving up on it but when I got it out again, I thought . . I’m at least halfway done, I should finish. I thought it had been a WIP for a long time but according to my notes, I started it December 25, 2022.
I started working on it again on May 11 with having most of Christmas stitched except the C. In three days I finished the C and “Merry”.
The beads were a pain. I had the called for beads but I thought they were too big. The called for fabric is 28 count and I used 36 count so that may be why I had so much trouble getting the beads to look nice. I finally decided just using red floss and stitching the design would be easier and would still look fine so . . that’s what I did and I’m very happy with it.

I don’t know whether the beads would have looked okay or not, but I think it looks great the way it is! And it’s always a plus when it’s officially finished!! 🙂

I’m just not much on beads and glitz in anything. Addie loves slinky, shiny clothes and when we’re shopping together, she’ll say in a little sing song voice “Granny doesn’t like shiny!”

Congratulations on a finish! It’s a lovely little piece to bring Christmas cheer to your house.
If this is one of your Maynia five-day projects, what will you do with your bonus day?

It is. On the 31st I can do whatever. I may stitch, or work on framing some finished pieces or measure pieces that need frames and get those ordered. I will probably see there’s anything I want to add to my June box for 5 x 6 projects.
