Yesterday it was rainy – mostly in the morning, but a couple of times we had drizzle and it was enough to keep the grass wet. I don’t go out and throw the ball with Oscar when the grass is wet because I’m afraid of him slipping and hurting his back. You can never be too careful with dachshund backs.
He’s so funny . . he has so much energy and when I find myself getting frustrated with him, I get up and play with him inside. I can sit on one of those ottomans and act like I’m trying to catch him and he runs and runs and runs and then he’ll come close to me and I reach down like I’m going to catch him and he does it all over again. He will run through the room, down the hall, make a big loop and come back. It only takes a few minutes before he’s huffing and puffing and ready for a nap.
He’s sleeping on the slip cover that goes on a recliner. I had it on the recliner I was using. It’s now back in the sewing room but I have an old quilt over that chair because Boots loves sitting in it and he’s such a shedder.
Oscar loves this soft side of this slip cover.
We’ve only had him about a year and four months and I cannot imagine not having him. He really makes my life interesting. In the mornings, I can’t wait to get up and see him and play with him.
