Poor Vince. He just told me . . If I find those darned thyroid pills, I’m flushing them down the toilet. He said “You were taking a shower at 2 a.m. and walking the dog at 6 a.m. and you haven’t stopped yet.” I’m just telling you this so you know . . having this much energy isn’t always a blessing. Be careful what you ask for!
I divided a big pork butt in half, made carnitas (in the Instant Pot) with half, froze the other half, made pinto beans in another Instant Pot and a salad. We ate (I’ll tell you about that in another post), cleaned up the kitchen, cleaned the bar, which is kind of a dumping ground. Then I rounded up all the humming bird feeders that hadn’t been put out yet, made sugar/water, cleaned and sanitized all the feeders, got them out.
At that point, Vince said he couldn’t take it any more and he was going to take a nap. 🙂 Poor Vince.
We had stacked big totes of yarn three high behind the sofa to keep Oscar off the carpet and made them high enough so he couldn’t get on the back of the sofa and jump down. Now that he’s stopped trying to pull up all the carpet and his bathroom manners are trustworthy, I moved all the totes back into the sewing room, vacuumed behind and under the sofa, cut all the threads off the vacuum cleaner.
This is why I use a cheap vacuum cleaner instead of the central vac in the sewing room and downstairs family room!
My chores for today are done. I’m going to sit and stitch the rest of the day.

Wish my thyroid pills gave me all that energy!! I sit around most days and get next to nothing accomplished. Maybe yours is psychosomatic? If so, I need to start telling myself it’s the fault of the thyroid pills, and make sure I believe it…maybe then I would get my house cleaned up enough I wouldn’t be embarrassed to have people show up!

No . . it’s real. I wish it wasn’t. It’s why I always end up stopping taking the pills or taking half.

Seeing the vacuum threads gave me a smile! Several months ago I was vacuuming my sewing room and I had a plastic tote of thread spools sitting on the floor in the closet. A thread must have been hanging out and when the vacuum got it the spools started popping out of the tote like popcorn! What a mess getting the roller cleaned off! It was so funny I couldn’t be mad.

I’ve had that happen too and it’s amazing how quickly that spool unwinds, and yet it takes me forever to unwind a bobbin when I need an empty one.

I am with Vivoaks, I wish my thyroid medication worked a little better. When I start feeling “normal” they say I am too close to being hyper and cut my meds.

They cut mine, then take me off them, then a year later, put me back on them, then increase them . . it’s been going on since the 90’s.

Sounds like a mixed blessing, but a blessing nevertheless. You are spending a lot of time stitching and sitting, just like Oscar, you need your busy running time!

I could use a bit of your energy today! I’ve had 3 nights running where I only got about 2 hours of sleep! I’m so tired I hope I don’t fall asleep at my desk today!

If I got that little sleep, I’d be running on empty too. Sure hope you can get more sleep soon.
