The number of stitches required for our group yesterday (Day 1) was 350. I stitched 584 so I now have 234 stitches in my bank!
My first project for May is This I Know by Plum Street.
The number is drawn (actually, it’s a spinning gizmo) by 9 p.m. my time each night. I can start stitching at that time and have to have my results posted before 9 p.m. the following night. I stitched way into the night Sunday night and it’s a good thing because yesterday was way busy.
Anyway, I went into Sunday night with just a few stitches on this project.
Here’s how much I got done between Sunday night and Monday evening.
There are several colors used on the sheep. These three are all stitched with the same variegated pale yellow. It seems like the lightest color, almost white ended up in the same spot on all three of those. I wasn’t noticing that while stitching. The background around the sheep is going to be that same green that I’m using for the outline. Once I stitch the background, if that white-ish stripe is still so noticeable, I’m going to go back and add a bit of extra pale yellow stitches over a couple of the white stitches, just to break them up. As I’m stitching more of the sheep that color, I’ll be sure to jump around a bit with my stitches and not stitch it all in lines.
I’ll have more to show you on this sometime this afternoon. Today is Day 2 and our required number of stitches = 250. Three sheep will be enough to meet that goal but once I get a few more sheep stitched, I’m going to start stitching the green background behind the sheep.
I love this challenge!
