I understand that some of us have limitations and simply cannot stitch (sight limitations, arthritis, etc.) and while I don’t understand it completely, I get that some of you just have no desire to cross stitch so this is for those of you who want to stitch and can stitch but simply don’t . . this is a photo a reader sent me of her 10 year old grandson’s second cross stitch project!
That is purely amazing. I see Addie’s attention span and how she quits as soon as something gets hard, which is a learned behavior, and I’m even more amazed that a 10 year old did this. There are specialty stitches in those lures (and I’ve never done specialty stitches). There’s backstitching that looks perfect.
Val, please tell him there’s a quilting granny down south of him who thinks he’s pretty amazing and if he needs a wife in about 15 years, I may have the girl for him (but he has to live in southwest Missouri the rest of his life!) 🙂
Seriously, that is a great finish.

That is very impressive! I don’t think I could have done that good! He needs to continue doing this.

That’s amazing for a 10-year-old! He and his family must be very proud of him.

Thanks Judy, I will tell him. He’s already working on another project.

The fact he is not attached to a cell phone, video game, tv, etc. made me proud of him. Good for him trying a craft and doing such a good job. This could turn into a later in life relaxing hobby. Remember Rosie O’greer knitted.

How amazing! My 10 year old granddaughter was here most of the day yesterday. She was getting bored, so I offered to teach her how to cross stitch. She politely, but firmly, declined. LOL!

That’s the same reaction I get from Addie. We can hope we’re planting a seed and maybe some day. I don’t care if she cross stitches or not but I would love to see her pick up some kind of needlework hobby. She does like drawing and making necklaces and bracelets.
