This morning Vince had to run to Lowe’s and he got home about noon. We usually have our afternoon meal about 3 p.m. so it was still an hour or so before I would get started cooking. He said “I’ve been thinking about this . . ” He’s been working hard to lose weight and he said “Every time I’ve lost 25 pounds, I think we should go out to eat . . some place where we can get somewhat healthy food, not fast food!” He knows how much I dislike eating out but yes, he deserved it so I agreed that was a good idea. He’s actually lost 35 pounds! He offered to go to Magic Noodle, which is a place I love and he doesn’t love but I told him since he’s worked so hard to get the weight off, he gets to choose. He got online and looked at local restaurants and decided he would like to go to HuHot.
I had been there once with Chad and Nicole when they first opened but that was probably five or six years ago. Vince had never eaten there and I didn’t remember much about it.
I’m not a big fan of buffets but this one was different in that we picked our food from the bar and then it was cooked on the grill while we watched so I felt a little “safer” eating that. The peanut sauce that has coconut milk in it . . I could drink that stuff. I used that on my food and it was so good. I think we’ll be going back there.
I told Vince I was going to starve him so he would lose weight faster and we can go back and eat there again. Maybe next time we’ll try something different . . so long as our eating out trips are a reward for him, he gets to choose where we eat.

WTG Vince! That’s quite a weight loss. Any hints for those of us who could lose some pounds?

Congratulations Vince! I’m having a terrible time trying to lose weight (keep losing and re-gaining the same 4 pounds), so I know how hard it is!

Congrats Vince! I completely understand the challenge. Since Jan 1, 2022 I have discarded 37.5 pounds. I stalled out at 25 and decided to join a gym and take senior fitness classes 5d awake. That got me going again. I choose not to ban any food from my life as that has historically not worked in the long haul because I want them again. So I’m going slow and steady.
Keep up the great work!!!!!

For Vince, he needed to get his blood glucose level down so cutting back on carbs was a good solution for that and losing weight. The biggest hurdle is finding a solution that works for each of us and sticking with it. Congratulations. You’re doing great.
