Just when I’ve convinced myself that I don’t need any more pots and pans or baking dishes or ANYTHING . . a friend posts a picture of a cake she’s made in her new bee/honeycomb loaf pan. She received hers as a gift but I found it on Amazon, thought it was a bit pricey so I looked around and found it on sale at Target with free shipping. I’m not seeing it now but if you want this pan, or any of the novelty pans, check around for lower prices.
It arrived today and I stopped whatever I was doing, which was mopping the kitchen . . and made a cake.
It’s a fairly small pan. I think most cake recipes would fill this pan twice. I made this cake and three small (not the smallest but the next size up) loaf pan cakes. Next time I use this pan, I’ll make half the cake recipe and see how that turns out.
This is the Five Flavor Pound Cake recipe. Beware: That link takes you to my recipe and my story about a gross name we have for tha tcake. I’ve been making it for 30 years and Chad loved it and often ate too much of it! 🙂
There are a couple of older folks (at our age, for me to say “older”, they’re really pretty old) in our neighborhood so we gave two loaf cakes to them and one to a deliver person. Both of them love sweets so I hope we made their day a bit better.
