Don’t do as I do . . ever . . on anything! 🙂 There will be several instances within this post where I should have done things differently.
Last night, I should have gone to bed. It was well after midnight, in fact, it was well after 2 a.m. I decided my WIP for the weekend was going to be For the Love of Nature by Teresa Kogut. I started this project on December 10, 2020 and that means it was one of the first few projects I started when I went back to stitching after decades of not stitching. I’m stitching it on 36 count fabric but it’s a loose 36 count. This was before I started stitching from bottom left to top right and then bottom right to top left and always starting where a vertical thread passes over a horizontal thread. There are a few places where I stitched over three threads instead of two. It will all work out and I will love having it on our walls but it’s kinda torture to stitch it. It’s very nice to look at my stitching on this piece compared to my stitching on Rejoice Evermore. There’s such a huge improvement and that makes me happy.
So, at 2 a.m. I decided on For the Love of Nature. The last time I stitched on it, I was still stitching in hand. Cannot do that so I had to decide on which stand and which frame to use. I knew I wanted to sew fabric to the top and bottom of the line, decided to do that before I went to bed.
Then . . super not smart move . . I had to make some adjustments to the Rolaframe stand to hold a smaller frame. Instead of taking one piece off and moving it, then taking another piece off and moving it . . I took both pieces off, then decided I had the legs on backwards, which really didn’t matter but I took those off, which meant I had EVERYTHING apart and, yep . . you probably guessed it. I had about 20 bolts and nuts and didn’t have a clue how to put it back together. I tried this way, and that way and kept having to take it apart. Thank goodness Oscar was snoozing and not “helping”. I finally got the laptop out and looked for pictures on how to put it together so I got that done and managed to get to bed a little after 3 a.m. Oscar was wanting to go out by 5 a.m. so I took him out, came in, fed him and went back to bed.
Today I’ve cooked, worked in the garden a bit, cooked again, showed Vince some floss tags I would like for him to 3D print for me, played with Oscar multiple times – hard to use up all the energy that dog creates, and now . . I’m ready to stitch but you can bet I’ll be in bed before 3 a.m. tonight.
