This evening I was stitching and watching flosstubes and a video popped up from Cathy from Hands On Design so I started watching it and it sent me on a hunting expedition. I don’t know how I missed this whole story/design because three of the “ornaments” were released at market and I never saw them.
This is their youtube channel. She and her husband m(6)entioned this series in their flosstubes 79 and 80 but 81 is the video I came across and it’s all about finishing these adorable little ornaments. This is a project she designed to raise money for Special Olympics. As I understand it (and I’m not even finished watching the video yet), the first five charts will be available in the needlework shops. The first three were released at market. The next two will be released in early May and the sixth and final will be a pdf download only available from the Hands On Designs website and all of those proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics.
The designs are so cute. It looks like these are a big seller. I had a hard time finding one shop that had them all but here’s where I found all the supplies. These items were all available just a few minutes ago, unless I write differently below. I’m betting that with Cathy’s new finishing video, some of this stuff is going to be sold out for a brief while.
Fat Quarter Shop has the first three charts. Fat Quarter Shop also had or will have the wooden finishing pieces. They are not in stock at the moment.
141 Design Company on Etsy has her laser cut wooden cutouts for these ornaments. There are 6 pieces for the ornaments and one template.
Lady Dot Creates Rick Rack – snow.
The fabric Cathy used is 32 count Polar Plunge dyed by Fabric by Stephanie. There are shops that have it in stock in different counts. I found mine on Etsy. It is available in various counts of linen and aida. I would bet
The paint Cathy used is Folkart Acrylic, color is 2430 Uniform Blue. That can be found at Hobby Lobby or Amazon. In the dropdown info on video #81, Cathy lists all the items she used, including the scrapbook paper which is currently on sale at Hobby Lobby.
Just thought this was worth sharing . . it’s all so cute and helps benefit a worthy cause.

I got the one with the polar bear to make an ornament for one of my grandsons for Christmas this year. Thank you for all the information about sources of supplies. I surprisingly found a fabric in my stash that looks to be a close blue to the photo, but if I want to make any of the others in the series, I will need all the info you shared.
