A blog reader who has become a friend, and who lives in England, sent a package to me. It was a box full of the cutest dachshund stuff – socks for me, a tin, a very neat hot pad – not really a hot pad but something to grab hot dishes (I’ll never use it because I’m a messy cook but will hang it in my kitchen for display), and, the best, was a little scarf for Oscar and it has a dachshund on it.
It was so bright with the sun coming through the windows that I couldn’t get a decent picture and meant to take a better one as the sun moved to the other side of the house but forgot and by the time I thought about it again, he was tired and grumpy and not very cooperative.
He couldn’t figure out why I kept saying “Oscar! Oscar! Look here!” I think he thought he was in trouble.
I can tighten the scarf up but he’s not going to wear it til he calms down. As soon as he realizes he can reach the pointed end, he will shred it so . . some day when Oscar is a calm boy, he can wear his beautiful dachshund scarf that my sweet friend sent him.

He’s a very dapper dude in that scarf!

Thanks! He’s such a fun little guy. I’ve learned to go outside for 15 or 20 minutes with him when he gets out of control and he’ll wear himself out and come in and sleep for 3 hours! I take about 10 little pieces of freeze dried carrot out with me. The only way he’ll bring the frisbee back to me is if he gets a treat. He’s happy with is little smidgen piece of carrot so I throw the frisbee til the carrots are gone. I save one last piece so he’ll come to me and I can get his leash back on him to go inside.
