Celeste Creates is my new favorite youtube channel. I would almost move back to Texas if I could be her neighbor . . but only if Chad, Nicole and Addie would move too so, I think it’s safe to say I’m never moving back to Texas. If you’ve never watched her videos, I recommend you watch at least one. It seems to me that every video is better than the last one. Maybe she stitches the things I love, maybe it’s her family values, maybe it’s her calming voice, maybe it’s that she forgets things and that makes me feel normal – whatever it is, I am so happy every time I see she’s posted a new video.
It could also be that she’s a prolific stitcher. She gets so much done.
Yesterday, I was watching her Flosstube #51. She had stitched the center wreath with the birds on Couleur Tourterelle. She had found a frame at an antique shop or a flea market and it is so perfect. I can’t stop thinking about that frame. It’s one of those things that there’s probably not another one like it but I want one just like it! A friend is going to stitch the bird chart and she was thinking about doing just the center. I was still on the fence about whether I wanted to do the whole chart but after seeing what Celeste did, I’m just stitching the bird and the wreath . . probably sooner than I had planned.
Also, in the intro to her video #51, there’s a picture of a chart that says “Peace of Christ!” I didn’t know what that chart was and I started to leave a comment asking, then I thought I would just send her an email, then I thought . . why bother her when I can go back through some old videos and find it. A month or so ago, I had started at her first video and was working my way to the most current. I’m on 20 but I chose #30 to start with to see what chart she had used for this project and there it was . . Bells on Christmas Day by Blackbird Designs. The chart says Peace on Earth Celeste changed the words. It’s so pretty. I’ve had the chart since I first started stitching. It was one of the ones I bought when I first started buying so I pulled the floss and the fabric. I have all the called for floss and fabric except that off white. It calls for onion skin, which is more tan. I thought maybe that off white would work but it’s way to white/bright. I’ll wait til Vince is downstairs to babysit Oscar and I’ll go digging through the floss and see what else I can find that might work.
I’m not sure if this is an out of print booklet as lots of shops have it marked “out of stock”. Anita’s Little Stitches shows it in stock. I’ve ordered from her too many times (according to Vince) and she’s a good and trustworthy shop. So, if you want this one, might want to get it and not procrastinate.

Oooh! I have this chart and am only stitching the birds as well.
I think I have the Blackbird chart too.
Love them both.

Now I’m going to have to see if I have that chart with the birds on it. I have two reproduction samplers I had gotten from Creative Poppies site and I think the birds might be one of them because I now there was a huge floral border on whatever I ordered. The other one I know I started (but didn’t get very far on before I got distracted) but I might need to find that one. It had a unique (simple) border and a swan on it and I can’t even remember what else.
