We needed to make a trip to the other side of Springfield today. It’s not quite a two hour drive. Vince wanted to leave early but I figured if we left here about 10, that would give us time to eat lunch, do what we had to do and get home in plenty of time and the dogs would be fine for that amount of time. He, of course, wanted to leave earlier, go straight there, do what we had to do and come home.
It ended up we left about 9:30 because we wanted to let the storm move completely out of the Seymour area, MO area and give the streets time to dry up before we were driving through the crazy Springfield traffic.
I had stayed up last night til almost 3 waiting for the storms to get through our area but I still woke up about 5 a.m. I knew Oscar was probably ready for his walk so I took him out, came in and thought about going back to sleep for an hour or so before we left but ended up getting dressed and working on a few things around the house that needed to be done.
I still have to move the tender plants from the greenhouse to the garage. Tonight and tomorrow night, our lows are supposed to be 35. The temps at our house are usually at least 5 degrees cooler than the forecast so . . that’s too cold even with the little electric heat in the greenhouse so all the peppers, tomatoes, loofah, sweet potato starts . . all that has to come in. I guess I should get out there and get busy!
It’s going to be an early to bed night for me tonight.
