Every Opening Flower Progress

I have the outline of the top right and right top borders stitched.

I started out in the top right and was filling in all the “Oscar” floss and decided that was taking too long. I’d rather make my way around the entire border, then come back and do the fill in.

This is 46 count and it’s not the easiest for my eyes so I’m going to take a break and work on something else – maybe a small.

This chart will be beautiful on 46 count. I usually stitch on 40. I bought a small piece of xJu Old Mushroom 46 ct to try. The linen is gorgeous, but I’m not sure I’ll actually enjoy stitching on it! I’ll try your plan of alternating with something a little easier.

That’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m not enjoying the 46 count but maybe I will get more used to it as I stitch.

I am working on 46 count and the chart is a Dog’s Declaration. I am using Valdani thread and I am definitely not a fan but will persevere. I have 6 pages of the chart done since my start on Valentines Day and with luck it will be done and framed by his birthday in September. We had freezing rain overnight and it’s still coming down so there will be plenty of stitching today. We still have loads of snow but I did co er my daffodils and hyacinths that were poking through next to the house. Love your blog Judy

That is quite a chart and will be so beautiful.

I also meant to say that my eyes seem to adjust to the 46 count because now, after a month or so, I don’t need magnification anymore. I have my chart copy next to my stitching on the frame so no need to look away each time or to look up either.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stitch even on 40 count without magnification. I do remember that when I went from 36 count to 40 and came back to 36 for a project, I thought the holes were enormous so I’m hoping the longer I stitch on 46 count, the better my eyes adjust. I do love the smaller size of projects.

Sometimes I have to just get away from completing the whole border and skip parts just to get to the middle. I know it’s a risk just in case something doesn’t match but I get impatient. Embarrassing to admit but I actually have this chart! I mentioned I didn’t buy it but apparently I did….lol I was looking at my stack (not really that big) of market orders and there it was! But, I will wait until I start it. 🙂

I am always anxious to get the borders done and don’t get bored with those. It’s the centers that cause me to go start new projects.
