I’ve ordered more floss – some from Colorado Cross Stitcher and some from Roxy Floss Co. Since the Roxy Floss Co. floss comes from Canada, it won’t be here for a couple of weeks. What I’m going to do for now is fill in the border and stitch other things til the floss for the house arrives.
Last night Vince wanted to help so he looked through the floss and came up with Candied Yams. I didn’t think it was going to work – thought it would be too orange but I didn’t want to make him feel like his idea wasn’t good so I stitched a bit with it and no, it’s too orange for my liking.
That’s been ripped out and I’m thinking if one of the new colors works, I’ll stitch with it and he’ll never know it wasn’t the color he chose.
Otherwise, someone had mentioned they’re using Perfect Piecrust for their house. I have Perfect Piecrust and had tried it but it was too light. In today’s mail was a chart with floss and one of the skeins was Perfect Piecrust.
The skein that arrived today is second from the left. You can see how different it is from my other skeins. The problem is that I need two skeins and there’s no telling if I would ever get a darker skein again.
Above is the new Perfect Piecrust with the Conch I have. I think that Perfect Piecrust might be close to perfectly what I’m looking for but without a second skein, I’m not going to risk it.
I’ll stitch on other colors until the new floss arrives from both Colorado Cross Stitcher and Roxy Floss Co. and then I’ll make a decision . . which will be to use one of the new flosses or completely change the color of the house.

And did you order another Perfect Piecrust just in case it was the same dye lot? I’ve realized that with all the Cosmo, Victorian Motto, Valdani, Sassa Lynne and other floss and perle I have, I’m going to have to live another quarter century to come close to using up 50%! Stitching the whole time. But I am sharing with some friends and a friend’s little girl, so maybe that will help. =)

I did not. I have 8 skeins here that have been ordered at different times and only one is the darker color. I think there’s a slim chance I would get another dark one. I’ve ordered more pinks and peaches so I’ll wait til those get here before I decide what to do next.
Yes, I think I’ll need at least a quarter century, maybe half a century. Oh . . can you imagine what the world will be like in 25 years??
