Yesterday I mentioned that Vince wanted me to go to town with him. You know how much I’d rather stay home. There was something he wanted and it wasn’t far from Hobby Lobby. I needed DMC to get three projects kitted. I asked him if he would drop me off at Hobby Lobby, go do what he needed to do and come back and get me and he agreed.
As I got out of the car, I said “The longer you’re gone . . the more I spend!” 🙂 He said “Buy all the floss you need . . that’s cheap . . don’t buy anything else!”
All “wall decor” was 50% off but there were a lot of frames on clearance.
I thought this frame was really pretty and there are so many colors that would look good with this one. It was $6.40.
This little frame is very rustic and may work with the deer I want to stitch for Chad. I can darken it up or lighten it up if needed. I think it was about $4.00.
I think this frame is really pretty and it’s heavy, and has glass. It was $6.00.
I have a chart that may fit perfectly in this clock frame. I can change the color of the frame if needed or may be able to change some of the colors on the chart to make it match. I’ll dig it out and see what I think. The clock wasn’t on clearance but was part of the “wall decor” so it was 50% off.
Last . . my favorite! It was also “wall decor” and 50% off.
They had several menu board pieces. One I loved more than this one but it was too big. Our kitchen has zero walls. The kitchen is all cabinets so I hung this on the wall of the hallway that goes to the sunroom . . right off the breakfast room. This is next week’s menu. I was so happy that after a but of aggravating Vince, he hung it up for me. That’s going to be so fun having the menu on the wall. I always have a menu that I print and hang it on the fridge but this board on the wall is kinda front and center and I think I’ll always be paying attention to what’s on tomorrow’s menu. It makes me feel more organized having it on the wall and easier to see.
Of course, Vince wasn’t terribly happy about everything I was buying that wasn’t floss. The girl chicking us out said how much it was. Vince gave me “that look” and she said “But look how much you saved!” Vince honestly said “I’d save a lot more if I left her at home!” I looked at him and said “Please? Promise?”
I’m wondering how long it will be before he wants me to go to town again.

Looks like a lot of fun stuff – maybe I need to run into my Hobby Lobby and see what jumps in my cart, LOL.

I always laugh when I hear about your conversations about things with Vince – reminds me of mine with my hubby (will be 49 years together in about 6 weeks)! You got some absolute bargains at Hobby Lobby…..and he will be proud of your framed pieces when you have friends and family over and he sees them ‘ooohing and ahhhing’ the pictures. Even if he doesn’t appreciate the work you’ve done YOU should enjoy all of them. You have some beautiful pieces to hang.

Was that planned? LOL

That’s the bad thing about having the husband drop you off, then come back. He’s usually standing there when the total is announced at checkout!! Never a good thing for me!! When I would be taken to a quilt shop when I was buying a good quantity of fabric, I always tried to make sure he’d “just” checked to see how much longer, then run to the checkout to hopefully get it all paid for before he saw the total. LOL Didn’t always work, but all I ever got was the eye-roll, so I guess that’s not too bad.
For local shopping, my hubby NEVER goes shopping. OK, can’t say never, but as a general rule, if there’s shopping to be done, even if it’s just to get his donuts that he eats one a day, I’m the one that has to do it. I’m afraid if I die first, the poor thing is going to starve to death!! 🙂

I didn’t even bring my purse so I knew he would know how much I spent . . he had to pay. I was going to shop til he he came back to get me then we’d check out together. You know if I wanted him not to know, he would definitely show up just when the cashier told me the amount. Vince loves shopping so he’s always happy when I ask him when he’s going to town again. That means I need something so if he didn’t have a good reason to go, my needing something is all the excuse he needs.
