I’ve struggled with the color for the pink house. I want it to be pink but not too bright. I’ve auditioned a dozen pinks and I think I’ve decided on the pink shown in the photo below.
The house is big and not much pink can look brighter and overwhelming. I will stitch a little more before making a final decision on whether this is the pink I’m going to use.
I went ahead and stitched the trees and now I can fill in the snow without having to count – a bit of mindless stitching. I’ll do the same with the house once I decide for sure that’s the pink I’m going to use. I’ll stitch the outline of the house, then around the windows and door and then I can mindlessly stitch the pink house for days! It’s a good thing I love stitching houses!

Looking wonderful! You got so much done! I have not decided about the pink for the house yet, I may just go with the called for. The snow though, I may change that out, mine looks a little to yellow for my taste. What did you use for yours?

That pink does look promising. It coordinates well with the other choices, and it’s not too bold. But, as you said, it’s still hard to tell at this stage!

I think you nailed it with the pink color.

It’s always fun to see how someone else approaches the same pattern. I like your idea of doing the trees along the bottom. After doing the vine along the left edge I started on the fence and snow and then stopped to do the first tree. I think I will finish the rest of the trees before going back to the snow. Caution about an error in the pattern regarding the flowers on the vines along the left side. The third and fifth flower from the top has an extra stitch in the pattern for the Mulberry. After doing some of the other flowers it didn’t feel right so I looked at the photo and no extra stitch! Not a huge deal but I guess I like balance. lol Your pink is looking good but I’m sticking with the Conch for my house for now as it looks pale pink in my two strands of it. I wish I had looked at the Mulberry closer though. It seems to have more rust in it but I’ve used so much of it I won’t take it out now. Unless of course it bugs me once I get it done. lol I might go looking for another string before working on the cardinal but perhaps I can save the darker parts of the floss I have for that. I’m loving working on this chart!

Thank you Cindy! I was just getting ready to do that third flower down the left side.
You’re absolutely correct, there is an extra stitch. Saved me a headache.
