The planned start date for Winter Rose Manor is March 17. Everyone who wants to stitch this one have your chart, floss, fabric ready? Here’s the post I wrote about this project.
I made a few stitches in along the edge to check some of the floss colors that I thought might not show up on my linen.
- Oscar – Although I love that green, and that’s actually what my wild and crazy dog is named after, it just wasn’t going to show up on my linen so I changed that to Victorian Motto’s Orchid Stem.
- Palomino – This one was really blending so I changed it to Victorian Motto’s Autumn Bronze. I love this color and keep stalking their Etsy shop to try to get more of it. It’s a beautiful goldy brown with bronze highlights.
- Conch – Not sure if I’m going to change that one or not. I don’t want the house to be Pepto Bismal pink but I want it to appear to be pink so I may change that one. Sometimes making a few stitches doesn’t give an accurate indication of the intensity of the color until you get a good number of stitches together so I’ll start the house using Conch and then see what I think. If I do change it, I’ll use an unnamed Colour & Cotton Limited Edition pink.
I think this is going to be a project I can’t stop once I start stitching it.
Hope everyone who wants to stitch this has received all your supplies. If not, join us as soon as you can.

I’m almost ready! I was sidelined with a fall I took a week ago and thankfully nothing really bad but it made going down to the basement (where all my stuff is located) difficult so I put it off. Today I’ll go cut the fabric, serge it, and then arrange the floss and make a working copy. I’m so excited to get started!! Using the called for floss and 36 ct natural linen. Looks like all the colors will work but if they don’t I’ll find something else that will work. 🙂 I finished two pages of And A Forest Grew (made some errors around the bird and chicks part on page 9 but worked around them) and today I pulled out Three Things Sampler again. I was ready to work on something else even if was only for a couple of days!

Wow, that’s great progress on And a Forest Grew! I didn’t even finish the first page before I got sidetracked ;(

You’re getting so much done. Sorry about the fall but happy you weren’t injured any worse.
