Yesterday, the electrician was coming to get the power hooked up for the greenhouse and I didn’t want to be out there while he was working so I worked on some bread, got the stairs vacuumed, got a few other cleaning chores done.
Once the electrician was gone, I went out. The only electricity in there are the electric plugs, the overhead light and a vent fan to suck out the heat, that works off a thermostat (kinda like an exhaust fan in the attic that comes on when the temp reaches a certain point. He wasn’t here very long so when he left, I went out to do a few things in the greenhouse.
When I go outside, especially as Spring is nearing, one thing leads to another and I can’t stop playing in the dirt and playing with plants.

I transplanted the 6 lettuce and 6 kale plants to pots that were a little bigger than what they were in. I take them out of the greenhouse during the day because it gets so hot in there. I don’t want the lettuce to bolt in March! But then, there’s two more days in our forecast with snow, March 3 and March 12, but after that, it’s looking good for more gardening. I’m going to be patient though . . too many times I’ve trusted the weather forecast and a late freeze happens.
I did plant six cabbage plants in grow bags outside. If we had a hard freeze, I could bring those in.

The four rosemary plants (above) and two bay leaf trees (below) have gone in and out of the garage all winter.

The bay leaf trees look better than they’ve ever looked after a winter. I wish these two trees could know how much I love them and how happy they make me.
You know what else makes me happy? Horseradish!

They like cold weather and I was hoping it would be fine. Yesterday I raked back the mulch to check on it and it’s alive and well! It seems excited for Spring too! 🙂
I covered it back up and will let it stay safe til warm weather is here for good.
