This chart is by Teresa Kogut and it was an exclusive design for Craft Gallery.
Denise is stitching this one too and she reminded me about some changes she was going to make and she’s done an excellent blog post here. If you’re planning on stitching this chart, I would recommend reading Denise’s post about changes.
Of course, Denise is way ahead of where I am. I did finish the outline of the border all the way around the piece and started on the house on the right bottom.
I am going to make the same changes Denise made on the house. I am going to leave off the moths and I am going to change a few motifs.
Here are the other changes I intend to make. Even if you aren’t stitching this piece and if you aren’t even a stitcher, I welcome your thoughts on my proposed changes.
- The white house on the top right, I’m going to change the color because the light color isn’t going to show up on the linen I’m using.
- I don’t think I’m going to put smoke coming out of any of the chimneys.
- My plan is to leave off the moth and the smoke from the red house on the left and bring down two of those children and put them closer to to the house.
- I’ll leave off the smoke on the house on the right and put the other two children there.
- Leave off the couple next to the house on the left and then move that tree over a bit.
- I may totally leave off the vase and big flower in the middle right and move the smaller red house to the right top of the church to that spot. I would make the house a different color.
- I think I may leave the people off on either side of the fruit bowl (or whatever that thing is).
I’ll make the decisions as I come to the item to be stitched. I may screw it all up but I may love it! We’ll see. It’s just fabric and floss, right? 🙂
