I don’t know why I get so excited about breakfast but I wake up looking forward to breakfast. We try not to eat breakfast til between 10 and 11 so by the time we eat, I’m really ready for breakfast.
This morning I used the “buttermilk” left from making butter to make the biscuits.
Check out the flaky layers of that biscuit. My biscuit making skills have greatly improved but unfortunately, the waistlines around here have grown too. The sausage really isn’t burned to a crisp. You can see them in the photo below and I was just taking the food up to the plates.
This picture makes me happy. Gas stove, cast iron, Mason jars with things I use every time I cook.
This morning Vince and I were talking about something and someone had kinda acted ugly (not to us) and I said “Someone needs to tell that guy that you don’t always get everything you want!) Vince said “Only if you’re Judy!” I wanted to say CHICKENS! I didn’t because he told me yesterday that if I mentioned chickens again, he was calling and cancel the greenhouse. So, I have to wait til the greenhouse is here and then I can ask for chickens again. By the way . . yesterday they got baby chicks at Atwoods.

As you know being careful what I say is not my strong point.

My Dad used to fry sausage in his cast iron pan. He made sure it was well done and we used to call them hockey pucks.
