We had anywhere from 1/10th of an inch to a quarter inch of ice predicted last night. I don’t know how much we got – it wasn’t much but it doesn’t take much, especially after dark and when the roads are already cold, to make a mess. Probably 15 miles south of Joplin, two 18 wheelers went off an overpass and landed on a highway below. I cannot imagine being the driver of the 18 wheeler or even seeing the aftermath of that. I didn’t hear about any serious injuries.
Schools in the area are closed today. I think this is a good day to stay inside and stitch.
I’m thankful the power has stayed on. The power companies around here do seem to do a good job of keeping limbs trimmed above lines. There wasn’t much ice last night . . we’ll see what today brings. Not much ice is forecast for our area today

They closed all the schools here and they will not be open tomorrow. Hendricks closed all the clinics for tomorrow so Pat had to go do a blood test today. Tomorrow is supposed to be really bad. We are in a winter weather alert from this morning until Wednesday afternoon! It is already freezing mist here. No Tuesday meeting for us tomorrow!! Tonight is when it is really supposed to start getting bad bad! Stay safe!

I’ve watched your weather all day and it doesn’t look good. Stay safe and check in when you can.

I can not imagine going off a bridge, even if you were at the low end of it, and not suffering injuries. That sounds too scary for me to live there! I’m not a fan of ice or snow. We get both here on rare occasions, but not much, and I just stay home. I hope you can, too.

It’s a good thing you’ve been practicing staying home, so Vince isn’t too restless!

It’s such a mess when we go out in this kind of weather, then bring the vehicles back into the garage. I think that’s his main reason for staying home. I’ll take it . . whatever it is. 🙂
