Oscar loves to play. He’s always looking for a chance to do something fun. Vince goes to bed before I do. The minute I turn my back on Oscar, day or night, he’s going up the stairs. I take my shower downstairs so there’s less chance of waking Vince. For about the past week, since Oscar is determined to run up the stairs the minute he’s left unattended, I’ve been bringing him in the bathroom with me when I take a shower. The only other thing I can do is put him in the crate but I usually take him out for a walk after I take my shower so the last thing he does before bed is go to the bathroom. I don’t want to have to get him out of the crate, take him out, then put him back in the crate. So . . into the bathroom he goes with me.
When I open the bathroom door, you’d think Oscar had been cooped up in tight quarters for hours. He goes crazy. I had a tub of yarn sitting on top of one of the ottomans and had put it down on the floor to get linen out of the ottoman. Oscar nudged the lid on the tub of yarn, which apparently wasn’t on tight and he grabbed a skein of yarn. He took off running. I was chasing him. I looked down and my legs had about 5 wraps of yarn around them. I had to laugh thinking if I fell (I was on carpet) and couldn’t get up, Vince would come down in the morning and I’d look like a mummy by the time Oscar used up that whole skein of yarn.
I caught him, got the skein of yarn, wrapped it all back up, put it back in the tub, put the lid on securely, went to turn everything off in the bathroom and grab the dirty clothes. I came out and Oscar was making a huge circle through the bathroom, through the living room, down the hall. He was running as hard and fast as he could and he made that loop about 10 times. I just watched him . . thinking that he really needed to burn off all that energy. I hate putting him in the crate for bed when he’s so fired up and having fun but he doesn’t protest. He always seems to go right to sleep and then wakes up in the morning and picks up right where he left off!
I wish I had his energy.

He was having a zoomies attack! Bella gets those every so often. They are so cute to see when they do this!

Thank you for sharing the exploits of your sweet puppy. I can’t have a dog for various reasons, so I enjoy hearing about Oscar.

Oscar is inventing a game…grab one of your toys so you’ll chase him.

Yes, I think that’s exactly what it is. He loves to play chase.
