I do believe Oscar has turned into a lap dog. He doesn’t actually sit on my lap because if I’m sitting, I’m cross stitching. He’ll either sit on my legs or between my legs in the recliner but yesterday, if he wasn’t playing with me or trying to destroy the place, he was sitting with me.
Vince went out and got the mail, brought mine downstairs since he knew it was all cross stitching stuff and that stays downstairs. Opening the mail didn’t bother Oscar at all. He slept right through it.
After a while, he was ready to play and kept grabbing my right hand that sits under the stitching frame. The snow had mostly melted so we outside and played a little while out there. I get tired before Oscar does but I know the longer I keep him out there, the longer he’ll sleep and let me stitch.
I sure do love that little dog!

He is such a fun little dog. Chad says he’s such a happy dog. But . . we have to keep our eye on him every minute he isn’t in the crate. He walks into a room and is looking around for something he can grab and shred. He does know the meaning of “NO” but I think he has more respect for the yellow spray bottle. I can pick it up and he stops in his tracks before I say anything. I can’t imagine having him with children and their toys in the house. NOTHING can be within Oscar’s reach
When we moved to Texas, I wanted goats. Vince was talking to someone about them and the guy asked Vince if he had fencing for goats. Vince said “What kind of fencing do I need?” and the man said “A fence that will hold water!” I keep thinking about that with Oscar. He can escape from every fence/gate we’ve rigged up to keep him from going up the stairs. He’s a handful for sure but the fun we have with him makes it worth it (most days).

I sometimes look at him and wonder if others really think he’s cute. He’s a unique color for a dachshund and for the traditional people, they may not like his coloring but his personality is so funny. He loves to play and never gets tired of playing.
