I’m not sure if I mentioned this before but when I order frames, I go to the website where I’m ordering, I pick 5 or 6 frames that I think might work, I put those in the cart. The minimum size, which is the default size, is 5″ x 5″ so once I’ve searched through all the frames and added the ones that are possibilities and then I narrow it down to the one I want, I delete all the others . . or that’s how it’s supposed to work. Somehow, one one frame a while back, I didn’t delete the 5″ x 5″ frame so when the box of frames arrived, I was thinking . . why did they send me two of these frames? The other one was about 12″ x 14″. Then it dawned on me . . I never removed the 5″ x 5″ frame from the cart. No big deal . . surely some day I’ll use it.
Today when I was looking at all the frames that need to be used, I saw that little 5 x 5 frame and I thought . . Peppermint Bark may fit perfectly in there. I had planned to make a pillow with it so there wasn’t much extra fabric on two sides but it worked.
The other day Vince had been looking for something. I don’t even remember what it was. He had looked in the garage and in the shop and in the basement and I think he gave up. Yesterday he went out to the shop to get a box of Christmas decorations and there it was . . whatever he had been looking for. He came in and asked me “Do you believe in divine intervention?” I told him “of course I do!” and gave him a couple of times things happened that could not or would not have happened except for divine intervention.
While I’m not saying this is divine intervention but . . almost . . maybe! 🙂
When I had stitched the dachshund on Peppermint Bark, the white was blending into the fabric color. I changed from off white to white to bright white and even tried tan. Once I was finished stitching, I still wasn’t happy with the way the white was blending so I decided to outline stitch around the dog but . . what color? I tried black and it was too “in your face”. I tried red and that blended in with the red stitching. I finally decided to use gold and the whole time I was stitching with the gold thread, I was thinking . . this is too fancy for this piece but I wanted to be done with it so I left it.
Now, with this frame, I think the gold stitching around the dog and the gold in the frame go together so well and I’m 100% pleased with it.
I thought it would be cute if I could get a picture with Oscar but we have played so hard today, he’s exhausted. Look at those tired eyes! He just wants to sleep! Sweet little guy . . when he’s tired. We played hard today.

Don’t feel bad for Oscar. He got a second wind just about the time I was ready to go to sleep and he wanted to play. How can I say no to that sweet boy? 🙂
