As you know, I went to the ER on Friday, December 2, with a kidney stone. I don’t want to bore you with details but there was more. The CT scan showed a potentially serious problem. So, by Monday, not only was I dealing with the kidney stone(s) but needing further testing for what appeared to be quite serious.
The MRI Friday was good. I had done fairly ok with holding it together. I think I had shed tears twice and then it was just a little leaking from my eyes, not a full blown fall apart. When the doctor came in and told me everything was ok . . then there was a meltdown. All that built up stress . . gone!
I only mentioned all this to three of my close friends. Friday night when I told the friend who is a cross stitcher, she said “We need to start something new to celebrate!” We talked about the charts we both have and have been wanting to start and decided on Live on Little by Plum Street.
We both had to start it on December because that’s the day we were celebrating. I only got a few stitches done and after making those few stitches, decided the linen I had chosen really wasn’t what I wanted to use to I got another piece of linen and started over. Here’s what I got done very late on 12/9.
I didn’t get a lot of stitching done yesterday because I hadn’t been in a great emotional state and had pretty much not done anything in the house for a week so I spent time catching up on the laundry, scrubbing the stove, cleaning out the fridge . . those things that get pretty scary if you leave them alone for a week!
Not to end on a depressing note, but the thoughts that went through my head in those seven days . . you know that every single day, there are many people getting seriously bad medical news. It’s happened to many of you! I have been so blessed with very good health and I hope that every day for the rest of my life, my first prayer in the morning is to pray for those folks who are going to get bad medical news each day. And, I hope I remember that until those results are proven, don’t panic!
So . . if anyone has the Live on Little chart and wants to stitch along with us, grab it and let’s go. You can see that if you’re just starting, you’re not far behind.

So glad to hear your great news! It’s such a relief when it’s good. It has been my experience that there is always something in which to be thankful. Small mercies keeps one going. I love the pattern so I ordered it and will join in at some point.

Praise God that you are going to be alright. Sometimes it takes a good scaring to remind us just how blessed we are. You are a blessing to many people including me as we look forward to you sharing “The adventures of Judy and Vince” (let’s not forget Oscar). Stay healthy and keep sharing, you are a bright spot in my day.
