It wasn’t much – just one package. I think I mentioned that I signed up for Leo & Roxy Floss Co’s monthly floss club. My first shipment was the November club but it has to come from Canada so it arrived yesterday. I signed up for The Brights and The Neutrals.
Top to Bottom: The Brights: Teal My Heart, Pewter, Aquatics, Pink About It, and Drizzle.
Top to Bottom: The Neutrals: Peek A Blue, Sangria, Fossil, This Sand That, and Frosting.
Having these types of skeins make it so easy when I need to substitute colors. I’ll do a post about that later because it happened twice in the Goodness & Plenty crow piece.
I knew that package was arriving but when I pulled it out of the mail box, I was surprised that the package was larger than I expected but . . there was linen in there. I guess . . a while back when I was ordering linen, some of it wasn’t ready and got included in this package but . . maybe I ordered more. Who knows!
This is 40 Count Dirty Porcelain and it’s much creamier than it appears in this photo.
This is 36 count Pistachio. The color is pretty accurate in this photo.
This one is 46 count Greige. It’s quite a bit lighter than the picture and has nice tones.
I would like to say this is the end of the packages for orders. I’ll continue to receive the two fabric clubs – XJu and Fox & Rabbit; the floss club from Leo & Roxy and the kits from the Country Sampler Girls’ Club. Otherwise, I’m back on my “Almost” No Buy in 2023.

You talk about thread count as 14, 30, etc, what does this mean? The smaller than number is how many holes to an inch? Novice, very novice ex cross stitcher has forgotten almost everything she used to know. When I was stitching, Aida was all one count or it seemed so, that was in mid 70’s. Thanks for info on all types of threads, fabrics and internet sites.

The numbers are how many squares/holes there are per inch. There’s linen, aida, lugana — all different kinds of fabrics. I stitched in the 70’s too and yes, I knew of nothing but aida.
When stitching on linen, most of the time, we’re stitching over two threads (skipping a hole) so 36 count linen will give you the same size finished piece as 18 count aida.
I stopped stitching in the early to mid-80’s and picked it up again at the end of 2020 and I couldn’t believe how much had changed – the talk, the fabric, the floss, the frames/hoops, the accessories. I know I drove all my cross stitching friends crazy asking questions in the beginning but really, it will all fall into place quickly and start to make sense.

Those floss colors are wonderful for stitching anything. If I actually *needed* any floss, I’d be signing up! I’m not back to crazy quilting yet, because of shaky hands, but I will be … and I still won’t need floss. LOL, but those colors are so tempting!
