This is such a great project for me right now – it’s quick. It’s easy, it’s pretty mindless. The only problem is that Oscar grabbed one of the flosses, I got it away from him but now I can’t find it. I’ll look a bit and if I don’t find it, I’ll use something else.
See how the overdyed floss makes the bird not look so solid? That’s the times I love using the overdyes.
Next I’m going to make the little ABC chart. I think I’ll use the same linen and the Indian Summer red. You can see how it’s got a good bit of variation from a rich red to a deep burgundy.

Looking great! I love when the over dyed floss shows the variation too! Always a disappointment when it doesn’t. I love that chart. I seem to be collecting a lot of bird charts. I might have to order that one! lol

Keep a close eye on Oscar. I lost a skein of floss and it was found inside our dog’s intestines during surgery to remove an unknown blockage. We nearly lost her. So if he starts acting “off”, head to the vet. We’ve been dogless for 6 months now and I still find myself being very careful with floss.

I have tried to be very careful but he knows grabbing the floss gets a reaction out of me. My floss is usually on a ring so if he grabs it, he gets the whole thing and that makes it a little harder to eat. He’s never loose around floss except when I’m in the room with him and even if I run to bathroom for a minute, he goes back into his safe area.
Thanks for the warning though . . I know how quickly it can happen and I know it can be devastating.
