Back many, many years ago . . more than 40 years ago, the ex and I were building a house and I wanted red carpet in the master bedroom. I wanted a red and yellow Drunkard’s Path quilt for our bed but he said NO to the red carpet in the master bedroom. I’ve always wanted a red and yellow room.
I REALLY want a mustard yellow front door and if our door wasn’t stained wood, I’d paint it yellow. But I’m not going to paint over pretty stained wood.
We have a red dining room .. Kansas City Chiefs Red! The first thing I intended to do was repaint that room but I kinda like it and I keep thinking . . I could do something in there with mustard yellow and have my red and yellow room. Vince gives me a look like . . NO! every time I mentioned red and yellow.
The downstairs family room has one red wall .. a Kansas City Chiefs Red wall. I need a stitching chair that isn’t a recliner.
I found this chair on Wayfair and it was really cheap. Maybe it won’t last, maybe it will. With Oscar around . . it probably won’t last but I love the color. I talked myself out of getting the yellow, and put the gray one in the cart. Not available. Then I put the blue one in the cart and it was available. I left it overnight just because I got sidetracked. This morning . . the blue one was no longer available. What’s a girl to do? Order the yellow chair! That chair is going to make me smile every time I walk into the room.

Order the yellow chair!! I remember years ago I saw a red couch and matching yellow chair that I loved, but I couldn’t sway my husband. In hindsight I should have just bought them and he would have been fine with it!!

Go for it. Get the yellow.

Don’t you hate it when you miss something you really want? I’m always so conservative with furniture, paint colors, etc. – too many years of knowing we weren’t staying long in the house we were in. I did order the yellow chair and I’ll be happy when it gets here. I’ll be happier when Oscar gets to the point that we don’t have to have Rubbermaid tote barriers and blockades to keep him from the areas where we don’t want him to be. The downstairs family room looks like a child turned it into a fort of some kind.

Yay! Hope it works out for you! With color I find sometimes it’s better to just get what you love. Later it won’t matter to the husband and you will be really happy!

Love the yellow chair.
For your dining room, make a long table runner in the red and yellow colors. Do you have any cross stitch projects planned for that room? Find some that have yellow & gold colors and then put in gold frames. It might take a while to get everything done, but then the slow introduction of the yellow will be easier for Vince to accept.

A very cute chair! You’ll enjoy it. My best friend repainted her house last summer – a dark charcoal color. And the doors are the color of your chair. It looks fabulous!!

I’m glad you ordered the yellow chair!! Me I want a pink bedroom, in my next home I will have a pink bedroom. It had hardwood floors in that room so pink will look nice!!

We have a red kitchen sink, red walls, white cabinets. My idea. Husband did the work about 20 years ago. His usual comment is “If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” (Red is his favorite color, GO BIG RED! OU fans)

I just hope it’s comfortable for your stitching!!!

One of my favorite sayings–drink the wine, eat the cake, buy the shoes–in your case, buy the yellow chair! I hate recliners, the Cowboy loves them! Recliners are awful for back pain, sciatica, etc. I have a really nice Lazy Boy chair and ottoman in Montana that is 20+ years old. I love that chair so much we took it to an upholstery guy and it’s now done–he sent photos and it’s gorgeous again–I hope it sits better too when I get back to Montana!

I’m sure a $140 chair with free shipping isn’t going to be the best but when stitching using the frame, I sit near the edge of the chair so most aren’t going to be comfortable. I would much prefer a good chair and an ottoman to a recliner. I’m always afraid Oscar is going to be under the chair and I have to check for him before putting the feet down.

Good for you! Life is too short NOT to ‘go for the yellow chair’ – obviously that can be applied to many things. I’ve found as I’ve gotten older I nearly always go for the brighter colors…I don’t use those colors ridiculously. But as you mentioned, when I walk into a room & I see that nice color I love, it makes me happy. I’m the same way with red, too —
