I came across a place called Picture Frames. It isn’t the place I usually order frames from but they had a discount code that made it very reasonable and I loved being able to insert the piece in the frame. It actually came to $39.40 with the discount and free shipping. See why I order the frames?
I’m not going to tell you which one I chose – I first want to see which one you would have chosen.
At first I was going to choose a few frames, then ask you to let me know which ones you liked but then I was afraid the discount code was going to expire and Teresa Kogut had a patreon livestream starting so I wanted to participate in that so I went ahead and ordered a frame. Here are the ones that I added to my cart.
For the pictures below, I hadn’t measured the exact dimension of the finished stitching, and the stitching wasn’t yet totally finished. Now it’s totally finished but wrinkled and I probably won’t have another picture of it til it’s framed. and on the wall.
I am not sure where I’m going to hang this. My first thought was to hang this in our bedroom. The walls in there are kind of a light sage green (I think . . I never pay attention). OK . . I found the pictures from when the house was for sale. We did buy this furniture from them so it pretty much looks the same.
So, if this was for the bedroom, I think that frame would look very nice but, for the most part, we pass through the bedroom to take showers, then we go to bed. We get up, go downstairs to take care of the dogs, go back upstairs to eat, don’t go back into the bedroom until time to go to bed and, honestly, we sleep in the basement bedroom more than we sleep in the main bedroom. So, I didn’t let the bedroom colors have a lot of influence on my decision.
The above frame reminds me of the frame I had wanted to use that was too small. That’s kinda what I had my heart set on ever since I saw this design.
The above frame . . I love the part that’s closest to the stitched area but as it goes out, I’m not sure about it. If I were to hang this on the walls in the hallway, or on the “happy home” wall in the foyer or maybe above Vince’s chair, I’m not sure if that lighter outside edge wouldn’t blend into the wall a bit. It wouldn’t be like you wouldn’t notice it but it wouldn’t make a statement at all.
There’s something about the dark frame with this piece but this one getting lighter at the edges is the same as #3 in my mind.
So . . any thoughts? Any favorites? Which one would you choose?
Sharon says
Personally I like Frame 2. But, your project will be beautiful in which ever one you chose. I love the rose.
Teri says
They are all very nice. It’s hard for me to tell the difference between #1 and #4 but I do lean towards them. Curious to know which one you chose!

You’re right! I put the same picture twice. Fixed it now. Sorry.
Donna says
I think frame #1 pops this piece beautifully
Suzette says
2 then 3
patti says
2 or 3, but 3 a little more than 2.

Number 2 is my favorite. I really like the gold frame with that piece.
Denise Fischer says
I say #1, it makes the stitchery the star of the show, the gold ones seem to compete a bit. Also frame #1 complements the color of the lettering.
Arrowhead Gramma says
I too would pick #2 – to me it makes the colors of the cross stitch pop. JMHO.
CHRISTINA says
Love frame 2 and also 1, but on looking several times I would go with 2, it is a beautiful piece. Thinking of stitching this in various yellows for a friends Golden Wedding.
Robin says
I would choose number two. I think the gold fits the character of the piece and if you do decide to put it in the bedroom the gold will coordinate with the light oak well, at least in terms of color.

Hadn’t even thought of that but you’re right. Some day we’ll probably not be going up and down the stairs as much as we do these days and we’ll spend more time in the upstairs bedroom so I can always put it in the family room for now and move it to the bedroom later.

Judy, I like #2 best! Has some extra “sparkle” to it and your Rose Stitchery is beautiful!!
Jackie Hicks says
Number 2 is my favorite but they all work. Please tell us which on you picked.
Rosalie says
#2
Joyce says
I like #1, but they are all nice.
Kathy Henderson says
I think #3 is perfect. No wrong choice though – all look great.
Cindy Kuipers says
I like #1 the best, then #2. The stitched piece is lovely.
Julie says
I like 2 and 3 best, but there really isn’t a bad choice. It’s a lovely piece and will look beautiful whichever way you go.
Cindy F says
I love 1 and 2! Maybe it’s the lighting or the frames but #1 brings out the cooler colors and #2 brings out the warmer colors. If I had to choose just one I think #1 would be it but that #2 gold also is so lovely! Btw….I was able to import this chart into Pattern Keeper! My first chart! Woohoo! Had to go in and add the colors individually but no problem doing that! Now I’m REALLY itching to get to it. This morning I finished getting all my floss organized for And A Forest Grew. I made some pins last night and was really pleased at how they turned out but thinking I might not have used enough glue. Will check on them later.
judy.blog@gmail.com says
Did you make floss tags for all the floss. That took forever. I did that while I was in Branson with nothing else to do.
What glue are you using for the pins?
Cindy F says
I had to pick up 42 skeins so I made tags for those. The rest are wrapped on the old cardboard/plastic. I worked on it last night and finished the last few this morning. For the pins I used the E6000 and it seemed to have worked.

Great. That’s what I bought.
Kat in Tamale Land says
I think I like 2 best. And then 3. It’s going to look beautiful in any of those frames!
Sherry Bobak says
I like #2. It brings out the gold colors in the piece.
quilter44 says
I liked 3. But they are all beautiful, some just a bit more ornate than the others.
